Solar Market UK (solar-market.co.uk) and Boiler Market UK (boiler-market.co.uk)
Last updated: 21 Sep 2026 (version terms-uk-2026-09-21)
1. Who we are
These sites are operated by The Quote Company Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia (ACN 154 910 004) whose principal place of business is Suite 6B, 103 Rokeby Road, Subiaco, Western Australia 6008. We trade in the United Kingdom as Solar Market UK and Boiler Market UK.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Quote Company Pty Ltd, and “you” means the person using the site.
We are not a UK company and we have no UK office. Because we offer our service to people in the United Kingdom, UK law applies to that service. We are not taking quote requests from people in the UK at the moment. Before we do, we will appoint a UK representative under Article 27 of the UK GDPR for data protection matters and name them here.
Our contact details are on the contact page of each site. We do not operate an inbound telephone line.
2. These terms
By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the site.
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed, and the version in force is the one published when you used the site. If we make a change that materially affects your rights we will say so on the site.
These terms are written in English and the contract between us is in English.
3. What our service is
We are a quote service You tell us about your property and what you need. We pass your details to up to three independent installers who cover your area, and they contact you directly with their own quotes.
Our service is free to you. The installers pay us for the introduction.
Usually we pass your details to three installers. Sometimes it is fewer, where fewer installers cover your area or have capacity. If an installer tells us they cannot help we may replace them with another, so more than three installers in total may receive your details for one request. If you ask us for more introductions than that, we will pass your details to the additional installers you ask for.
4. What our service is not
This clause matters more than any other in these terms, and it reflects how the sites describe us throughout.
- We do not carry out any installation, repair, servicing or other work. We are not an installer, a heating engineer or a contractor.
- We do not sell, supply or hold any goods.
- We do not employ the installers. Each is an independent business.
- We do not assess or approve you for any product, scheme, grant or funding, and we do not administer any government scheme. We are not connected to, endorsed by or acting for any government body or scheme administrator.
- We hold no trade registration, accreditation or certification, because we do no trade work. We are not Gas Safe registered, not OFTEC or HETAS registered, not TrustMark registered and not certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.
- We do not give professional advice. See clause 6.
5. Your relationship with installers
Any contract for work is between you and the installer, not with us. We are not a party to it, we are not an agent for either of you, and we do not guarantee, warrant or insure an installer’s work, quote, conduct or solvency.
Each installer is responsible for its own quote, its own work and its own compliance with the law, including the registration its trade requires. You should carry out your own checks, and the sites tell you what to check and where.
Your rights in respect of work carried out by an installer are against that installer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
If you have a problem with an installer we would like to know, because we use that information to decide which installers remain on our platform. Telling us is not a substitute for raising it with the installer.
6. Information on the sites is general
The guides, comparisons and explanations on the sites are general information, not professional advice. They are not a survey, a design, a heat loss calculation, a safety assessment or a recommendation for your property.
We take care to make the information accurate and to date it, and we record the source of the figures we publish. Even so, law, schemes, prices and products change, and what is right for one property is wrong for another. Do not rely on the sites in place of advice from a qualified person who has seen your property.
Where we publish a figure taken from a third party we say who it came from and when we checked it. We are not responsible for the accuracy of that third party’s information.
7. Using the site
You may use the sites for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You agree not to:
- submit false, inaccurate or misleading information, or another person’s details without their permission
- use the sites if you are under 18
- submit a quote request other than because you genuinely want quotes
- use the sites for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage, disable or impair them
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the sites or any system connected to them
- scrape, copy, republish or systematically extract content from the sites without our permission
- introduce any virus or other malicious code
We may suspend or withdraw your access to the sites if you breach this clause.
8. Intellectual property
We own or are licensed to use the content of the sites, including text, layout, graphics and code. You may print or download extracts for your own personal use. You may not use any of it commercially without our permission.
Trade marks, scheme names and registration marks belonging to other organisations, including Gas Safe Register, MCS, TrustMark, OFTEC, HETAS, RECC, HIES, Ofgem and manufacturers’ brands, belong to those organisations. We refer to them in words only, to explain what they are. We do not display their marks and we do not claim any accreditation, membership or endorsement.
9. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- our obligations to you under data protection law, including your right to compensation for damage caused by a breach of the UK GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded
Subject to that:
- We provide the sites and our introduction service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise that the sites will always be available or free of errors, and we may suspend, withdraw or change any part of them.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any installer, for the quality, timeliness, safety or price of any work they carry out or quote for, or for any contract you enter into with them.
- We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general information on the sites, where you have not obtained advice from a qualified person who has seen your property.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
- Where we are liable to you, our total liability arising from your use of the sites and our service is limited to £500. We do not charge you for our service, and this figure reflects that.
10. Your rights as a consumer are unaffected
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 or any other consumer protection law.
If any part of these terms is found to be unfair or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
11. Your personal data
How we collect, use, share and keep your personal data is set out in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of your agreement with us.
In short: we pass your details to up to three independent installers so they can contact you with quotes, we tell you who received them, those installers become separate data controllers for their copy, and we do not send you marketing. You can ask us to stop at any time.
12. Links to other sites
The sites link to other organisations, including government bodies, regulators, registers and manufacturers. Those links are for your information. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content. A link is not an endorsement.
13. Installers and other businesses
If you use the sites as an installer or other business, including any page inviting installers to work with us, the terms on which we deal with you are set out in a separate written agreement, which prevails over these terms in the event of a conflict.
Business users do not benefit from the consumer protections in these terms, and our liability to a business user is limited as set out in that separate agreement.
14. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing the sites or our service that is caused by something outside our reasonable control.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by English law.
You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the nation in which you live, and nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of the law of that nation.
16. Complaints
Please tell us first if you are unhappy with our service, through the contact page of the site you used. We will acknowledge your complaint and tell you the outcome.
For a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, the route is in the Privacy Notice, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
For a complaint about an installer’s work or conduct, raise it with the installer. If they belong to a consumer code, that code may offer independent dispute resolution. Tell us as well, so that we know.
17. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the whole agreement between us about your use of the sites.
If we do not enforce a right under these terms, that does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.
Only you and we have rights under these terms. Nobody else may enforce them.
