When we are, you tell us about your property and what you are considering. We pass your details to up to 3 installers who cover your area. They contact you directly with their own quotes. That is the whole service, and it is free to you.
What we are not
We are not an installer We do not carry out work, we do not survey roofs, we do not sell equipment and we do not employ engineers.
Each installer is an independent business, responsible for its own quote, its own work and its own warranties. If something goes wrong with an installation, your contract is with the installer, not with us. We will help where we can, but we cannot stand behind work we did not do and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise.
How we are paid
Installers pay us for the introduction You pay nothing.
We say this plainly because it explains why this site is written the way it is. We do not rank or recommend equipment brands, because a recommendation from a business paid by installers would not be worth anything to you. What we do instead is explain how things work and what to check, so you can judge the quotes yourself.
Who we are
Solar Market UK is a trading name of The Quote Company Pty Ltd, an Australian company, ACN 154 910 004. We have run solar lead generation since 2012.
Your details are processed in Australia under UK data protection law. Our Privacy Notice explains what we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to object, access or delete your information, or complain.
What happens after you submit an enquiry, when quotes reopen
- You complete the form.
- We verify your mobile number by text.
- We pass your details to up to 3 installers covering your area.
- We email and text you the names of the installers who received your details, so you know who will be calling before they do.
- They contact you by phone, email or text, usually within 48 hours.
You can ask any installer, or us, to stop at any time. Reply STOP to the text and we will stop all contact and tell the installers named on your enquiry.
We do not send marketing The only messages you get from us are about your own enquiry.
Our editorial standards
The guides on this site follow a few rules:
- Every factual claim carries a source and the date we checked it. Government, Ofgem and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) sources ahead of comparison sites.
- Figures that change live in one file and are updated together, so the price cap and the savings figures cannot drift apart.
- We do not publish a single payback number, because no honest one exists. We explain the method instead.
- We do not claim heat pumps are cheaper to run than gas boilers, because at current prices a typical installation roughly breaks even. We show the arithmetic.
- We say when we do not know something, rather than filling the gap.
