We do not rate or recommend panel brands We are not an installer, we do not sell equipment and we are paid by installers for introductions, so a score from us would not be worth anything. This page describes the manufacturer and sets out what to check.

The manufacturer
A long-established manufacturer with continuing UK availability. Like Canadian Solar, it has survived a period that removed a great many competitors.
Trina has current UK availability and appears on domestic quotes here.
On sourcing no primary source publishes UK installed market share by brand, so what we can say about any manufacturer’s UK position comes from installer-facing and comparison sources. Treat it as a guide to what you will see on quotes rather than a measurement.
What to check if Trina is on your quote
The specific model and its wattage Manufacturers make several ranges at different price and performance points. “Trina panels” on a quote tells you very little on its own. Ask which model.
Price per watt installed Divide the total quote by the total watts and compare against the other quotes. This is the only fair comparison, because panel counts and wattages differ.
Both warranties A product warranty against the panel failing, and a performance warranty guaranteeing a minimum output after a given number of years. They are separate and both matter. See warranties.
The UK claim route How would you actually claim in year twelve? Is there a UK office or distributor? And does your installer’s workmanship warranty cover the labour and roof access for a warranty replacement, or only the part? That last question catches a lot of people out.
Shading behaviour, if your roof has shading. Ask how the proposed panel and system design handle it. See shading.
Efficiency, but only if roof space is your constraint. With room to spare, a cheaper panel per watt is usually better value than a more efficient one. See choosing panels.
The honest position
Nearly all panels currently sold in the UK by established manufacturers are competent, and the difference between them matters less than the difference between installers.
If two quotes differ only in the panel brand, choose on the installer: who assessed your roof properly, who accounted for shading, who explained the grid connection, and whose workmanship warranty is backed by something.
